Bootle will have more than just a football score to celebrate on Saturday 24th February when the Addison Arms, a name from the eighties, returns after a £250,000 makeover of its original home in the form of a modern pub with extensive sports, entertainment, and proper beer.

 

The ex Yates venue will open at 4pm, ahead of the Everton vs Watford 5:30pm kick off, the perfect introduction to the extensive BT and Sky Sports viewing facilities with live commentary and the promise of the view of a screen from any point in the pub. Sports Table Service brings beer to the table during all big games and for none football followers, there’s always pool to keep you occupied.

 

Live band, the Joseph Barenskie Trio will be playing Motown from 9:30pm, the first of weekly Saturday night live bands. There’s entertainment every night of the week from pool to poker, phone quiz and rock ‘n’ roll bingo.

 

“The Addison Arms is a pub for meeting friends with good beer, entertainment, sports and food now open from 8am every day and until 1am at weekends,” said Rob Gordon, who has returned to the pub he worked in six years ago, now as manager.

 

“It really is great to be back. Lots of our regulars never really stopped calling the pub the Addison even when it became a Yates and with it being such a community based pub, it’s great to see it restored as a proper pub.”

 

Eight new staff has joined Rob’s team, all trained during the three week closure in the perfect pour of the pubs new cask ale range and craft beers Hop House 13 and Blue Moon. Four rotating ales are on tap from national treasures to local beers from the likes of Liverpool organic, and the ‘cask collector’ card rewards every seven pints bought (not in one sitting)! with an 8th free.

 

Gin o clock has made gin a focal point with ten botanicals such as Tanqueray, Hendricks and Bombay Sapphire paired with premium mixers, buy six get the 7th free with the gin collector card. Cocktails are also 241 all day every day.

Food has something for every one too with 2 meals from £8.95 such as Fish & Chips and Beef & Ale Pie all day every day. Burgers from Classic Beef to Three-way Chicken, Grills and Build-your-own Planks for the ultimate socialites couldn’t get more ‘proper pub’.
