The Slug and Lettuce in Marlow has closed to make way for an investment of almost £200,000, which will see the creation of eight new jobs. To celebrate their opening, the team will be giving one lucky Slug and Lettuce customer the chance to win a diamond worth £500.
Owned and operated by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, the new-look Slug and Lettuce will reopen to the public on Saturday 7th September at 6pm and will host a weekend of celebrations starting on Friday 13th September.
A diamond give way worth £500 on the evening of Saturday 14th September; cocktail master classes over the course of the weekend; live music and kids eat free on Sunday with a guest appearance from Peppa Pig from 10am, are just some of the activities that Rodney Bennett, the manager of the Slug and Lettuce and the team have planned.
Rodney explains: “We’ve already been closed a few days and already you can see the new Slug and Lettuce start to take shape. The refurbishment will take just under two weeks and as part of the investment we’re introducing two new booths that can seat parties of up to 6 and 8 people respectively. These will be great for birthday celebrations or just give an exclusive feel to your night out, particularly with our enhanced table service which means customers will be able to relax and take it easy as the Slug and Lettuce team look after them.
“The celebrations for our first weekend of full trading are also coming together and we’re sure that our diamond giveaway will make it a night to remember for one lucky customer. The first 100 guests to walk through the door at the VIP party from 7.30pm on Saturday 14th September will be handed a glass of bubbles and attached to the stem will be a diamante. We’ll be asking guests to take their stone to our on-site jeweller who will then check whether it’s just a pretty stone or the real deal.
