Percy Lambert hosts live music for birthday fundraiser
They say pubs are the heart of the community and customers are the heart of the pub. Never has a saying been so true for one local Weybridge pub, The Percy Lambert as this Saturday it will host a live band night in honour of a special customer whose birthday it is next week.
The evening entitled ‘Something for the Weekend’ will showcase performances from Weybridge three piece funk band ‘Shock Contenders’ as well as North London band ‘Mexico Indigo’ to coincide with the 27th birthday of customer Sadie Bush. Entry to the evening which kicks off from 9pm is free with money raised through donations during the evening going to Sadie’s chosen charity Prostate Cancer.
“Sadie has been a regular in the Percy Lambert ever since she moved to the area 5 years ago and she’s a massive live music fan. The Percy Lambert has long had an association with hosting live music and we are hoping our ‘Something for the Weekend’ nights will become a regular fixture. With Sadie’s help and contacts in the music industry we are throwing an almighty birthday party in the form the live band night”, said the general manager of the pub “and everyone’s welcome, the more the merrier,” he added.
Internet entrepreneur and budding music journalist, Sadie Bush said, “I love getting together with friends and watching live music so when the manager and I started chatting about the pub putting on the next ‘Something for the Weekend’ night he suggested we host it close to my birthday so it could double-up as a party for myself and my friends. It’s such an amazing small knit community in Weybridge and I’m so looking forward to the evening.”
Sadie is currently fundraising for Prostate Cancer in memory of a close friend who recently passed away with the illness and will be taking part in the Great British 10k run to raise funds in July.
