Church Inn celebrates refurbishment
Church Inn on Ty Glas Road in the Llanishen district of Cardiff has temporarily closed this week for a week long makeover. The pub closed its doors at the end of trading on Sunday 8th July welcoming in builders and designers to give it a spruce up.
The pub will re-open to the public following its re-vamp, on Tuesday 17th July with a celebratory re-launch evening to showcase the pub’s new look and a red carpet welcome for all customers.
Speaking about the refurbishment, manager of the Church Inn, Jim Patching said, “The Church Inn is a real ‘heart of the community’ pub, friendly, welcoming and with a wonderful mix of loyal clientele. It’s in need of some tlc and that’s just what its getting. We’re spending over £100,000 changing the décor inside and out, introducing new furniture and soft fabrics. It’s a quaint looking pub and we want to enhance all the quirky unique features that make it special.
“We’ve got a great menu for the summer as well as a fabulous weekly line-up of events from our poker and quiz nights to our karaoke and of course the famous skittle tournaments in our very own skittle alley. We only had the skittle alley built in September and already our first team have won their league, but there are always room for more players and team so we hope the makeover will encourage more people to come along and play. We love our sport at the Church Inn and will continue to show all the big sporting events from around the globe live.
“We do hope as many of our regular customers and new ones join us on opening night to see the new look pub for themselves and to enjoy a complimentary drink, nibbles and live music.”
