The Pigot Arms Raises £1800 for Help for Heroes
The team at the Pigot Arms on Pattingham’s high street, near Wolverhampton, hosted a fundraising event over the weekend for Help for Heroes raising £1800.
Assisted by former Wolves footballer, Don Goodman and members of the RAF and the Navy, the pub held a raffle and auction with items for auction generously donated by regulars and local businesses in and around the area.
The event at the Pigot Arms, which is owned by national pub operator, the Stonegate Pub Company, was organised by the pub’s Team Leader, Nikki Powis. “We’re really pleased with our first attempt at raising money for Help for Heroes and plan to organise more in the future,” said Nikki.
“I’ve always wanted to join the armed forces and so my support for Help for Heroes is born from that. We initially raised £300 for the charity on New Year’s Eve by collecting money on the door and asking people to donate their loose change, so we were hopeful that we could raise a significant amount of money through a special fundraising event.
“The support we received from everyone was just fantastic and everyone’s generosity was greatly appreciated. Don did a fantastic job geeing everyone along to ensure maximum bids and I would like to thank all of those who supported us both financially and by coming into the pub for the event.”
