The Red Lion celebrates its new look and showcases new ‘heart of the community’ pub
The Red Lion on Amos Lane in Wednesfield has closed to make way for an investment of £200,000 which will see the pub re-open as a new ‘heart of the community’ local pub.
Gary Eddington, the General Manager of the Red Lion and his Team will be hosting a celebratory red carpet party from 6pm on Friday 27th April for customers new and old to enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne and sample the new food menu, whilst getting a glimpse of the pub’s fresh new look. To delight and entertain guests, the pubs resident band ‘’No-eye-deer’ will host the evening’s open-mic night introducing new and up-coming acts and performers from the area, whilst a table magician will have guests entranced with his clever tricks.
The party spirit continues into Saturday 28th April. A bouncy castle and children’s garden games will create a fun-day feel during the day followed by live music from a ‘surprise’ tribute band in the evening.
Speaking about the refurbishment, Gary Eddington, General Manager of the Red Lion said: “The Red Lion is to be the very first of a new breed of Locals pubs across the country for the pub’s owners Stonegate Pub Company. The aim is to create a pub that is the heart and soul of the community, somewhere for customers to meet and make friends, enjoy a bite to eat and drink and have fun and be entertained. But aside from that, we hope to be home from home for many, by providing wifi, having a dedicated pc for customers to use and even be a delivery point for parcels during times when are customers aren’t at home. By offering above and beyond the pub norm the Red Lion really will be a true ‘locals’ pub.”
“The refurbishment is something of a transformation and regulars are going to see a big difference. With new décor, carpets and furniture throughout, the introduction of the latest information screens, a staging area with state of the art lighting and cameras for bands and entertainment nights and even a fully interactive camera-linked darts board, the pub will be well and truly a modern day local.
