Bristol hangout, The Anchor, will reopen its doors on 16th August, following a £300k refurbishment and the creation of six new jobs.

The bar, located on well-loved Gloucester Road, has undergone a complete makeover both inside and out and now boasts two fantastic outdoor seating areas, offering customers an engaging space to relax, dine or be entertained.

As well as seeing a full refurbishment, the bar has also introduced a fresh new drinks menu, now offering five draught craft beers, four cask ales and seven real ciders as well as all the usual favourites. A brand new breakfast and brunch menu will also be on offer, with food now on sale from 10am until 10pm every day.

The bar’s relaxing chill zone will entice those after more than just a quiet drink, enabling guests to take a break from studying by playing pool or a selection of retro games. What’s more, the whole site will be equipped with free Wi-Fi and printing and mobile phone charging will be available for those looking for an easy-going workplace away from the library or office.

Alternatively, customers with a cause to celebrate will be able to dance the night away no matter the day. The Anchor will boast an array of offers and events, including Double Points Mondays for their loyalty card, Fun Bingo on a Tuesday, Wing Wednesdays where customers can purchase wings for 25p from 5pm onwards and £3 Craft and Cocktails on offer every Thursday. Clash of the Cans will kick start the weekend with all canned cocktails, canned craft beer and canned cider available for £3 from 5pm and live DJs and bands will be playing every Saturday. On Sundays Speed Quizzing will help wind down the weekend.

Steve Fingerhut, General Manager at the Anchor said, “We’re really excited to open the doors to the brand new Anchor and can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of our new look. We know that our customers like to have somewhere to eat, drink and relax; and with our refreshed drinks menu, offers, various events throughout the week and boosted sports offering, we really feel we have catered for everyone.

“So whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a pint during a game, or simply enjoy a nice meal with family and friends, we look forward to welcoming everyone back soon.”
