The Adelphi on Fylde Street opened to the people of Preston last Friday (9th March) and already the team at the pub are seeing new faces along with their regular customers.

“The feedback from everyone has just been amazing,” said Sharon Young, manager of the Adelphi which is owned by the Stonegate Pub Company.

“The £370,000 investment has completely transformed the pub giving it a new lease of life. The building is now more spacious as we knocked down some walls, making the pub a lot lighter and brighter. Fitted booth seating has also been installed along with feature wallpaper and new furnishings in a range of quirky colours and fabrics. We’ve also introduced a number of HD TVs where we’ll show all the latest sports and with the introduction of more seating, our customers will be able to see every pass, goal and spot kick over Euro 2012.

Outside, we’ve given the pub a new lick of paint which gives the pub a more traditional look and makes it stand out. Our beer garden has also been updated – we’ve introduced new garden furniture, changed the layout and have doubled the size of the covered smoking area.

The upstairs bar has also seen the addition of more furniture and a change of layout where we’ve moved the bar and it is now encased in an expensive looking picture frame. Our plan is to host private parties and special events in the upstairs bar and we hope to build on the success of our current special events with venue favourites such as Bang Goes The Soundsystem , Boogizm, WAMPY Live and Comedy Mike. Already, the upstairs area has taken a life of its own and feels like a venue within a venue, offering a very different ambiance from downstairs.

One of the many things we received great feedback on was the introduction of live music to the downstairs area. We’ll be looking to add more live music at the Adelphi where we can showcase the musical talent of bands from Preston and further afield. We’d like to invite and encourage any aspiring bands to contact us if they would like to play a set at the pub and hopefully we’ll be able to support them. One of the events that we are planning is BANGFEST which is set to take the limelight April 20th-22nd, with a whole weekend of live music, comedy and entertainment.

“We’re delighted with the response from people and we hope that we can continue to offer new and existing customers a pub that has something for everyone. Our aim is to provide the visitors and residents of Preston with a great experience whenever they visit, be it our customer service, the food and drink we provide or the entertainment we put on.”
