CIDER PRESS UNVEILS £260,000 INVESTMENT

The Cider Press on Bristol’s eminent Gloucester Road, revealed its brand new ‘cider emporium’ on 27th January following a £260,000 investment which has created six new jobs.

The Lord Mayor attended the celebration of not only the transformation, but also over thirty on tap, cutting-edge ciders; craft beers; gin cocktails; artisan pizza and tapas; and enhancement of the already popular sports viewing facilities.

The intrigue for the much anticipated reopening, designed for Bristol’s aspiring fashionista, artist, entrepreneur, and esteemed student was unveiled at the VIP event at 5pm on Friday 27th January before the full opening at 7pm. Local band ‘Silver souled’ inaugurated the post development entertainment for the venue.

Sat amongst the longest row of independent shops in Europe, Cider Press’ new urban sophistication blends perfectly with the ‘quirkiness’ of Gloucester road and its hipster inhabitants. Reclaimed wood, industrial style light fittings, eccentric wall hangings, and neon–lit back wall playing homage to ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’, preserves the pub’s 19th century cider roots.

“Investment and diversity is fantastic news for keeping Gloucester Road right on trend,” said new boss Steven Docherty. “The energy that has been poured into delivering the right concept is testament to everything a vibrant city centre bar needs, whilst keeping it local – for us, cider, pizzas, sport and a heap of atmosphere.”

The Cider range involves every fruit combination from strawberry to lemon & lime; apples & pears and mango. Rosie’s Pig; Black Dragon; Bees Sting Same; and Crazy Goat just a few easily mistakable for a menagerie alongside the weird and wonderful Thistly Whisky Cask; Welsh Warrior; and BS7 made exclusively for the Cider Press.

The Cider Press squeezes more than just apples with an extensive cocktail menu, available 241 Monday-Friday from 5-8pm and a craft beer range for which master classes are available alongside the obvious cider ones.

Conscious of today’s consumer demand on value, the food menu with a street food twist, is high on quality with a whole range of incentives starting with 25% off burgers for students; Tapas Tuesday; Wing Wednesday; the pièce de résistance stonebaked pizzas 241 every Thursday; Fizz & Chips Fridays and lunch & a drink £6.00 Monday to Friday.

“Quirky new look, eclectic, independent, crafted drinks and dishes perfect for us and our customer base, it’s a fantastic offer for Bristol,” added Stephen.

Big on atmosphere reasons to visit also include quiz nights; three thirds for £3.50 on Mondays; live music; and a diverse sports showing selection.
