The Lawnswood pub in Stourbridge has closed – but not for long!

The pub is undergoing a six-figure makeover, reopening with a stunning new look on Friday 4th March.

Revealing a sneak preview of the restyled and modernised pub, owners Stonegate Pub Company announced 5 new jobs for the area, with recruitment taking place during the closure period.

The pub has run a competition to name the house real ale being brewed specially for the opening. The winner has the privilege of revealing the brew’s name as well of course, as pulling the first pint.

Speaking of the competition, Manager Owen Lowther said: “Real ale is a true passion of mine which is why I’m delighted we’re introducing craft beers and increasing our range of ales as part of the new offer. Having our house beer named by a local has great heritage.”

With Mother’s Day literally around the corner on 6th March, the weekend of the re-launch, customers can still book by calling 01384 277331 or emailing Lawnswood.Wordsley@stonegatepubs.com.

Meanwhile, Owen will be putting in place plans for the opening weekend which includes meet the brewer; food and ale samplers; the chance to win tickets to a Wolves football match; UK’s Country Music rising star Paris Georgia; and a magical showcase.

Owen added: “This is a major investment for The Lawnswood and I’m really excited to see the changes. We’ve got plenty of daily, high value offers being put in place which The Lawnswood community are going to love.”
