Missoula Scoops National New Concept Award within Months of launch.

Missoula, Montana Bar & Grill has scooped the prestigious award for Best New Concept at the Menu Innovation and Development (MIDAS) Awards held in London last week.

The win for Missoula is a tremendous accolade for the brand, which opened with its first site in Milton Keynes in December and second venue in York last month, February. These latest developments by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company genuinely step up the game in hospitality.

The award was presented to Perry Huntley, Head of Food Development at Stonegate Pub Company, on behalf of Missoula, Montana Bar and Grill. Receiving the award, on behalf of development chef Michele Mawhinny and the team, he commented, “We are over the moon about winning this award, not least because it was judged by a panel of leading industry experts and peers. We are really proud of our new concept, which reflects the passion and the pride of the state of Montana, while the food combines the authenticity of quality American dishes.

“We have worked closely with our suppliers to ensure the menu is a genuine reflection of a true Montana restaurant, sourcing ingredients such as our UDSA steaks from farms across the American Plains.”

The menu is packed with genuine American dishes. Breakfast takes a new twist with stacked American waffles and Scramblers, available until midday. Throughout the day you can choose from a selective menu that includes such delights as The Big Pig Sandwich – a feast of Hickory BBQ pulled pork with all the trimmings. The evening sees the best in beefsteak rolled out - premium USDA steaks that are nothing less than melt-in-the-mouth affirm their quality status.

To complement the menu there is a wide array of drinks options from craft beers and world beers to cocktails, including signature ones ‘Huckleberry Lemon Drop’ and ‘Ponderosa Pine’, wines and whiskies.

“The Feedback we have received from customers as well as the judging panel of this award has been overwhelmingly positive for the concept. The combination of the authentic American menu, unique within the UK, and the genuine warmth of hospitability rarely experienced outside of the USA, is proving to be a hit with customers.”

This is the second MIDAS award for the Stonegate team having won the City and Bar dining category with the Slug and Lettuce brand last year.
