Kingsbury Square’s new local ‘The Feathers’ is promising wall-to-wall comfort for modern day pub-goers of all ages and the Mayor of Aylesbury officially re-opened the £300,000 development, with its ten new jobs, on the 3rd of March.

Locals bid farewell to the ‘Kingsbury’ when builders moved in to transform the premises into a cosy community haven with soft furnishings, fresh pastel décor and ambient lighting. Broadening the appeal, sports viewing has gone ultramodern whilst additional dining covers and a casual dance area have been added.

“The change to the name ‘represents a new era,” said manager, Matt Barry. The name is deliberately ‘softer’ – a strong message we’re catering to all Aylesbury’s needs. Equally, it’s a nod to Aylesbury heritage and pub traditions.”

The pub launched with a VIP opening on Friday 3rd of March. New products and a flavour of the day to night offer were showcased with menu tasters, craft beer samples, cocktails, a charity raffle and poker tournament.

The much-anticipated Haye vs Bellew fight Saturday 4th March offered the perfect opportunity to showcase the seven new HD and two large projector screens. With Sky and BT sports showing in zones, locals get the best in sports viewing.

The new ambience is the perfect setting for a new cocktail menu, 2-4-1 Thursday andamp; Friday; whilst ‘Feathers Fizz Friday’; craft beers Blue Moon and Brewdog Punk IPA; and a cask expansion of national and local ales featuring; Rebellion, Tring brewery and Oxfordshire brewery, will satisfy all tastes.

The extended dining area is set for the great value, extensive food menu. Two for one, all day every day, include fourteen options at £7.49 such as Steak and Ale Pie, and Cheddar Cheese andamp; Bacon Beef Burger. There’s also daily deals from Mighty Monday meals at £3.99 to social 5 Pick ’n’ Mix planks £7.99 on Saturday.

The pub appears to have thought of everything in providing a reason to go out every night of the week! Monday sport; Tuesday poker, and cask at £2.25 per pint; Wednesday Pool; Thursday Rock n Roll Bingo; Friday karaoke; Saturday night party DJ; and finally live sport and quiz to follow the traditional Sunday roast.

“Keeping it local is what makes this pub so loveable, pair that with top sports viewing and entertainment and you’ve got your week lined up!” added Matt.
