The popular high street brand Slug and Lettuce, which is famous for its cocktails and good quality food, will be taking up residence on Wood Street, in the City of London.

Situated on the former Cape site and just a short walk from St Paul’s Cathedral the bar will reopen on Tuesday, 1 July.

The venue will have something to offer business guests, locals and tourists throughout the day and evening and will create 10 new jobs.

The investment will mean new décor, furniture and back bar for the venue.

Owned and operated by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, a spectacular launch party will commence on Friday, 4 July at 5pm with 2-for-1 cocktails and complimentary canapés. The first 100 people entering the Slug and Lettuce venue will receive a Peroni goodie bag and free Bellini.

Speaking about the new opening, general manager Ruth Arkless, said: “This Slug and Lettuce will work really well in this area of London.

“We will also be offering the popular Slug and Lettuce menu and drinks offer.”

The investment will also see the introduction of Costa Coffee, which will mean guests can pop in for their morning coffee and breakfast from 7am Monday to Friday and 10am on Saturday. Costa Coffee will offer guests their choice of hot drinks throughout the day including Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, hot chocolate as well as a range of Twinings teas.

The venue will close at 11pm Monday to Friday and at 6pm on Saturday. The site does not open on Sunday’s but is available for private hire.

The Slug and Lettuce food offer boasts dishes such as the SandL Burger, a 10oz Ribeye Steak with King Prawn Skewer and Lamb Ribs. The range of lunch and dinner options also include the ‘under 500-calorie’ menu, the popular platter range and mix of steak, fish, vegetarian and seasonal options.

Guests will also get to experience the Slug and Lettuce cocktail menu, which offers 2-for-1 cocktails Monday to Friday from 4pm to close. Cocktails include the Rumberry Mojito, Blackberry and Elderflower Pimm’s and Cinnamon Bomb.

An extended wine menu boasts world wines such as New Zealand Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc, USA Chardonnay Terlato, and Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut.

Guests can receive 50% off their food bill on ‘Happy Mondays’, while ‘Tikka Tuesdays’ offers 2 for 1 curries and ‘Wine Down Wednesday’ offers selected wines for £11.45.

Guests can also look forward to a range of world beers and free Wi-Fi.
