With just under 97 dishes on the menu, Yates has come up trumps with its customer food offer winning the prestigious Menu Innovation and Development Award (MIDAS) in the Town and City category.

The award, which sees a team of consumer mystery diners visit a selection of venues, measures the quality and consistency of the offer, speed-of-service, presentation and delivery amongst other criteria.

“To have consumers vote us the best amongst our peers is a great honour” said Michele Mawhinney, Development Chef for Stonegate Pub Company. “We have made great strides over the past few years working with specialist food manufacturers to develop bespoke dishes for our menus using ingredients sourced from reputable suppliers and this shows that this partnership approach, together with the investment we have made in the training and development of our teams has really paid off”.

“The award is really timely as we’ve just launched our Spring Summer menu this week so it enables our teams to talk to their customers about the best menu on the high street with added pizzazz!”

Michelle will join the other winners in a trip to Chicago to visit the world’s largest foodservice event, the NRA show. The winners will also learn about the latest US food trends and get the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour at Chicago’s leading restaurant and casual dining chains.

The MIDAS awards are in their 4th year and attract entries from all the major and regional pub and bar operators across the country.
