If you’re passing through Codsall next Tuesday don’t be surprised if you see a Town Crier ringing his bell and shouting out in the village. You won’t have been dreaming, honestly!

That’s because the new manager of Codsall pub, the Crown has found a unique way to tell everyone about her new pub menu launching this month. Anne-Marie Pearson has engaged the services of the local Wolverhampton town crier to make sure people hear loud and clear. Anne-Marie and her team will joining the town crier and taking to the streets in t-shirts emblazoned with ‘Fancy and nibble?… ask me about our new menu’.

Meanwhile regular customers and businesses are being invited in to enjoy complimentary meals from the new menu, whilst, throughout the week, customers can win prizes of free meals by taking part in competitions such as ‘The Stonegate Challenge’ – guessing the new dish, blind-folded.

Anne-Marie is convinced the menu, launching 13 March, is the best yet for the popular community pub and promises customers it will have plenty of great deals making it affordable for all. The pub’s hugely successful ‘daily deal’ a rotating daily dish is to be replaced with an even better ‘All Day Every Day’ deal, meaning customers can get any one of deals now, any day of the week.

New dishes such as the deliciously light summery Pasta Penne Arrabbiata will be joining the menu reflecting the seasonal change whilst the list of pub favourite dishes priced at just 2 for £7 has been extended to give even more choice. The hugely popular smothered chicken, (chicken breast topped with melting Cheddar, bacon and BBQ sauce and served with chip, peas and grilled tomato) just got better to with the added option of trying it in southern fried style.

“In addition to several new dishes on the menu, we’ve also concentrated on ensuring all of our popular dishes are the best they can be, by working with our suppliers to source quality produce and refreshing training for all the kitchen and front of house team”, said Anne-Marie.

As if launching a new menu wasn’t a big enough challenge Anne-Marie has a weekend of entertainment planned to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and Mothers Day too. The Crown is turning green to pay homage to the Emerald Isle on Saturday 17 March with Anne Marie herself morphing into a leprechaun. For Mothers Day they have promised that all mums will get plenty of pampering, as the private dining room will be transformed into a ‘Footie Free Zone’ for the day and all mum’s will get treated to a free glass of wine when two people dine.
