It was a short closure. It felt like a lifetime for Warrington pub lovers. The Barley Mow on the Market Place is welcoming everyone back to see it’s new sparkle look with a revamping party on Friday 11th March, following the re-opening on the 10th.

Local Warrington band Dogbone will be there to create the party mood from 9pm, playing everything from current chart music to old time favouritesandhellip;andhellip;. But in their distinctive style of rock!

A heap of new features are on offer – and to help the party along this Friday, two-for-one cocktails from 5pm, also available every Friday – including Good Friday!

Manager James Whimperley said, “The Barley Mow is a 500 year old pub, so light upgrades every few years like this one, keeps things fresh – customers are welcome from 10th March. Whilst we have a remarkable old building though, we do like to keep our offer current.

“New console nights on Monday are a great example – Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and a PlayStation 2 for all gamers out there to enjoy. We’ve also started opening from 8am to invite customers in for breakfast – bacon, sausage and egg muffins at just £2.49.”

Owners Stonegate Pub Company has added lots for Warrington customers to enjoy. Tuesday students’ night, with great drinks deals; Retro Wednesday with board games from Snakes and Ladders to Monopoly making an appearance; thinking caps at the ready for Thursday Quiz Night with the chance to win a bar tab; and live music every last Saturday of the month.

Delicious hand food is available on rugby game nights such as burgers and hot dogs for just £2.95 or 40 delicious chicken wings for £6.90 with four-pint jug purchases.

Other menu remain on offer – two meals for £7.99 all day every day; a different offer each day Monday to Friday – go large specials £4.99, burger and a drink £4.99, pie and a pint £5.99, grill and a drink £8.45, and classic dish and a drink £5.99 finishing the week on Fridays.

Reassuring customers he still believes in the Sunday dinner tradition, James added: “We are definitely keeping our Sunday roast with fresh vegetables, roasted potatoes and Yorkshire puddings for £6.29. We’re not depriving our customers of that!”

Opening times: Monday-Thursday 8am-11pm, Friday-Saturday 8am-12pm, and Sunday 10am-11pm.
