The famous Britannia pub at Monument, one of London’s hidden treasures, a short hop from the river Thames in the heart of the City, will show off her new found glory when she re-launches after a £250,000 investment, 22nd March 2016.

The venture by the UK’s largest privately held managed pub operator, Stonegate Pub Company, comes with a staggering, fifteen fresh new jobs, and a much longed for premium food and drink experience.
Tourists, residents and workers in the area will appreciate the artisan, craft offer that brings together the best in London’s on trend products including six craft beers, local ales, premium lagers, suave cocktails and the finest wines and spirits. Freshly stone-baked pizzas, bursting with flavour are promised with canapés of delicious grills, classics and sharers on the opening night.
Mystery and intrigue has been building since builders, decorators and deliveries moved in last week. Owners are teasing Londoners with the release of the design theme showing notes of the traditional British pub and all the attributes of a pub moving with the times: rustic overtones, inviting warm atmosphere, mood lighting and interesting artwork.
Manager Lydia Pethick said: “The renovations are spectacular. We have massively broadened our appeal both in terms of our look and our offer from day to night, including our 2am licence, exclusive to the area.
“Plans for our VIP opening from 5pm on Tuesday 22nd March include a grand piano filling the Monument area with notes of sophistication whilst our live act will keep the atmosphere alive throughout the night.”
