Six new jobs created as Glasgow bar Home re-opens following refurbishment

Six new jobs have been created at one of Glasgow’s hottest music bars, Home, in readiness for its re-opening following a £150,000 refurbishment. The bar, which is owned and operated by the award winning Stonegate Pub Company, is to re-open on Friday 13th September.

The bar, on Albion Street has long been, quite literally, the home of one of Glasgow’s best music scenes, with over forty guest DJs taking to the decks in the past year alone. Known for its unique style and un-commercial sounds, Home regularly plays host to DJs across a wide range of genres from funk and soul to motown and house.

Whilst the bar itself enjoys a whirlwind makeover general manager Kieran Haughey and his team have been busy changing the customer offer to include an extensive cocktail menu. Already a popular choice for Home customers there will now be over fifty delicious cocktails and shooters to choose from, from the classic cosmopolitans and martinis to a whole host of quirky creations from the aptly named Scotch Bonnet to Vanilla Sky. Alongside the cocktails, Home will be introducing a range of draught products including craft beers from local Glasgow Brewery ‘West’ and greater range of wines and champagnes.

The menu too is set for changes with the introduction of several new freshly prepared crunchy salads, improved melt-in-the-mouth gourmet burgers and a selection of dishes from the grill, such as beef, chicken or vegetable hanging skewers, served with shoestring fries and choice of drizzled sauce.

“We’re sticking firmly with our signature style when it comes to entertainment, of great music, for the real music lover, and will have DJ Snafu performing a set during our opening evening, followed by new DJ team ‘DC Sessions’ hosting our first Saturday back for us”, said Kieran. “But, we are improving our food and drinks offer further to give our customers greater choice and even better quality. The team have been busy whilst the bar is closed perfecting the dishes and cocktails in readiness and we can’t wait to show our customers what we have to offer!

“We open on Friday 13th September”, added Kieran, “and have a few treats in store during the evening for our customers including tricks from magician of the moment Robert, fire breathing stunts from our fantastic street performers and cocktail flare displays from our specialist bartenders. So we look forward to welcoming customers both new to us and returning to see for themselves the new look Home.”
