OK, so let’s be honest how many of us have sat in the bar shouting at the TV as our national team of, quite frankly, any sport, is playing and been convinced ‘even I could have got that try or goal’.

Well, Slug and Lettuce, the high street bar group and favourite haunt of many a sports fan is offering its customers the chance to put action into words. No, it can’t actually get you a place in the England Rugby squad but it can promise you a training session with them instead.

Slug and Lettuce has teamed up with Greene King IPA, the Official Beer of England Rugby, to offer six of its customers plus a guest spectator each, the chance to take part in a training session with the members of the England squad which make up the First XV. Winners of the ‘money-can’t-buy’ prize could be teaming up with backs Chris Ashton and Ben Foden, learn to kick with Toby Flood and take their chances in the scrum with the likes of Dan Cole and Matt Stevens at the official training ground of the RFU.

The competition, available to enter online at www.slugandlettuce.co.uk or via selected Slug and Lettuce bars is open until 31 March 2012. Terms and conditions apply.

“Our customers love our competitions because we always give such brilliant ‘money-can’t-buy’ prizes but thanks to Greene King IPA we’ve pulled an even better one out of the bag this time”, says Nicola Stuart, Brand Development Manager at Slug and Lettuce, “There’s not many guys, or even girls, out there who wouldn’t give their right arm for the chance to be a part of the England Rugby team for the day so make sure you tell your husband, boyfriend, son or mates about the competition so they can enter now.”

Customers of the following Slug and Lettuce bars can enter the competition by completing an entry form out in the bar : Marlow, Salisbury, Leicester, Derby, Farnham, Southampton, Southend, Worcester, York Swinegate, Milton Keynes, Southsea; Clapham; Richmond; Aylesbury; Islington; Leicester Square; Bath; York Riverside.
