Slug and Lettuce in Bournemouth has been officially named the Top Food Pub in a national awards ceremony.

Slug and Lettuce on Richmond Hill scooped the award at parent company, Stonegate Pub Company’s annual conference and awards. It beat off stiff competition from across the pub company’s 625 pub estate to win Top Food Pub. The awards were based on sales achievements across the financial year as well as customer feedback.

Richard Jones, general manager of Slug and Lettuce will be rewarded, alongside other national winners, with a once-in-a-life-time trip to South Africa in January. He will be treated to 5-star luxury during his stay in Sun City and enjoy a visit to one of the nearby game reserves where he and his fellow award winners will experience the African bush in all its glory, home to the Big Five; leopard, lion, buffalo, rhino and elephant.

Commenting on the achievement Toby Smith, CEO of Stonegate Pub Company said, “Congratulations to Richard and his team who have achieved exceptional results this year. Earlier this year Slug and Lettuce won an industry award for menu innovation and development demonstrating that it’s not just a bar for drinks but for great food too. This win now for the team in Bournemouth shows just how far the Slug and Lettuce food offer has developed and how much its customers love it.”
