Speaking about the opening weekend and the investment, Kelly Rainey, general manager of the Slug and Lettuce said: “The team and I are really excited about the planned investment. The refurbishment comes at just the right time and we can’t wait to see the transformation.

“Changes to the Slug and Lettuce include a new lighting and sound system, which will create a brilliant atmosphere of a night time, new furnishings which include a number of new VIP booths and the introduction of full table service for our guests. This, combined with the very best customer service, will give our customers a quality experience and will set us apart from our competitors.

“We’ll also be operating to new opening hours when we re-open after the investment. We’ll be open for breakfast from 8am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and from 8-10am we’ve got a great offer where you can get half price breakfasts.

“So much about the Slug and Lettuce will be new and exciting. We are thrilled that we’ll be the first Slug and Lettuce to showcase the new menu. Lighter, fresher, healthier options have been introduced to the menu where selected dishes are under 500 calories and we’ve enhanced the menu by adding to some of our favourite dishes including new choices in the burger range, adding a delicious spicy chicken tostada flatbread and offering customers something a little spicy with hot wings smothered in Frank’s Hot Dipping sauce.

“The opening weekend is just the start of the host of activity we’ve got organised. We’ll be open until 3am over the Easter weekend and have already started planning some great entertainment to celebrate.”
