Two staff from Stonegate Pub Company took to the skies with a 13,000 feet tandem skydive to raise over £2,000 for Variety, the Children’s Charity.

The skydive was part of the fundraising efforts for Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour, which will see a passport journey throughout the UK visiting each of the 620 Stonegate’s pub business.

The two dare devils, Vanessa Newins, Learning and Development Co-ordinator and Laura Brookes, PA to the HR Director and COO, both pushed through their fear barrier raising £2,268.06 for the charity. The tandem skydive took place on Saturday 14th June at Hinton Airfield.

Vanessa Newins said: “It is safe to say our nerves were pushed to the limit, it was possibly the scariest few minutes of our lives. However, knowing that we were raising money for such an amazing cause gave us the courage we needed.”

While Laura Brookes added: “Between us we raised a huge £2,268.06 for Variety, the Children’s Charity, and we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for their generous donations and messages of support.”

As part of the fundraising 50p from the sale of special Charity tipples, Strawberry Pimm’s or a pint of specially brewed real ale, The Crawler (Golden Blonde ale 4.1 ABV) will be donated to the Variety, the Children’s Charity.

The passport is continuing its tour around the country culminating with a spectacular party at Slug and Lettuce, Tower Bridge on Friday 26 September.
