Stonegate Pub Company, has won at the HR Distinction Awards for a second year running.

The national pub company, which operates 606 pubs, bars and late night businesses, employing over 12,000 people, picked up the award for Distinction in People Development at a ceremony this week at Birmingham’s ICC, hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

The award set out to recognise an organisation which has invested in developing employee skills, knowledge and attitude across all levels of its business. Criteria included demonstrating evidence that people development plans have been developed as the most effective and cost efficient solution of the organisation’s business needs; distinction in the implementation of its people development strategy ensuring it meets the needs of the individual employees and facilitates the execution of the company strategy; and shows clearly defined and measurable objectives and outcomes.

This is the second year that Stonegate Pub Company has won at the HR Distinction Awards having been presented with the Award for Innovative Use of Technology within HR last year as well as being runner up in the People Development award.

Next month Stonegate will also find out if has been awarded for a second time ‘Best Employer 50+ sites’ at the Publican Awards, the licensed retail sector’s industry awards.
