The team at the Bear on York Road in Twickenham celebrated their reopening last night to fantastic feedback from customers. The pub, which was closed for nine days underwent an investment of £150,000 and has been transformed into an elegant, classic looking pub.

Jason Tucker, general manager of the Bear said: “Last night was fantastic and we were delighted to see so many new faces at the Bear. The team and I are amazed at the difference made to the pub in such a short space of time. The Bear has always had great potential to be one of Twickenham’s popular pubs and we now feel the pub is more in keeping with the area. There are some really beautiful features in the pub, including the original back bar which really creates an impact as soon as you walk in, and the change of colour scheme, both inside and outside, really makes difference.

“We’ve got some great ideas planned for the Bear including introducing a cinema club on a Sunday evening where we’ll utilise the projector screen set towards the rear of the pub. We’ll also be introducing a new food offer on Monday where customers can get 50% off any item from the main meal section of our menu in addition to our other great offers including two-for-one cocktails on Monday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm.

“We’re hoping that the refurbishment will attract a new customer base as well as giving an improved offer for our regulars. Our vision for the Bear is to offer the residents and visitors to Twickenham a pub that they can visit on a range of occasions and a pub that provides the very best in customer service and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.”
