On Saturday 3rd August, the Great Stone Inn on Church Road in Birmingham, will be hosting a white themed charity garden party. The event is in honour of Air Ambulance, a local charity, for which the pub has raised a £1,000 over the last 14 months.

During the day, guests can enjoy delicious meals from the bbq and live music from local band, Cada, who take to the stage between 4-7pm. There will also be a special appearance by singer, Gags, whose set will start at 8pm. General manager, Janet Ward, who last year was crowned national winner in the Carling Heart of the Community Pub Awards said: “We are known for our commitment in raising money for charitable causes, and we strongly support Air Ambulance – for whom we held a similar party last year, but with a “Summer Ball” theme. Our team members will all be wearing white and guests are encouraged to do the same. Tickets can be bought from the pub at a cost of £1; and the full amount will be donated to the charity, along with any proceeds from collection tins placed on the bar.”

“We are currently also working with Breast Cancer Care, and have been doing so for the last 8 years by hosting small events, such as our Strawberry Tea – where we sell cakes in the shape and flavour of strawberries –most recently held on Sunday 7th July, where we raised a total of £140.”

The Great Stone was named Carling Heart of Community Pub of the Year by 540-strong parent company Stonegate Pub Company in October 2012 for the outstanding commitment Janet and her team give to regulars and causes within their local community.
