Santa’s little helpers will be making an early visit to Bedford pub, The Rose today when it temporarily closes for refurbishment.

The High Street pub will be shut for three days from today (Monday 10 December) while it enjoys a £53,000 refurbishment by parent company Stonegate Pub Company. The Rose’s Christmas sparkle will include redecoration throughout, new furniture and additional dining space for customers. Striking new wallpaper and comfortable booth seating is to be installed whilst outside the covered courtyard will be spruced up too.

To celebrate, general manager Paul Dawson and his team will throw open the doors on Thursday 13th December from 7pm for a pre-Christmas party with presents promised for every customer. Guests can get into the festive spirit with mulled wine and roast chestnuts before rock cover band All Star Zero takes to the stage to get the party going. The pub will stay open until 2am with special drinks offers available throughout the evening.

The celebrations will continue into Friday evening when customers will be invited to swing by between 5-7pm for a complimentary glass of bubbly to toast the pub’s sparkly new appearance.

Paul Dawson, General Manager at The Rose, said, “This is a great time for the company to invest in The Rose’s appearance with Christmas shopping and celebrations bringing increased footfall into the town centre. With our new look and additional seating to increase daytime capacity, we hope that we will be able to capitalise further on that footfall that has already started to reflect in our recent food sales.”

The refurbishment comes just a few weeks after the pub launched a new, value for money menu which also saw the return of popular meal deals including two meals for £7.95 and any bloomer, wrap, ciabatta or jacket with a drink for just £5.45.
