On the last weekend of September, the Slug and Lettuce in Bournemouth will be hosting a charity fundraising event for Breast Cancer Research.

From Friday 27th September until Sunday 29th September the bar on Richmond Hill will be hosting a range of activities and “pink days”, starting with ‘Pink Night’ on Friday with Pink Cocktails, pink fancy dress and most importantly pink cocktails. The staff will be dressed in pink and resident DJ Colin Foote will be spinning the decks to get customers up on the dance floor.

There will also be raffle tickets sold on all three days (pink ones, of course!), with prizes donated from local businesses.

Sunday 29th September is set to be a family day and the team has planned games to entertain the little ones including hook-a-duck, bat the rat and even cup cake decorating. As usual on Sundays at Slug and Lettuce, kids eat for just £1 with any main meal purchased. The raffle winners will also be announced on Sunday afternoon.
Event manager of the Slug and Lettuce in Bournemouth, Phil Churchill, said: “We are very excited about our upcoming event and we are hoping to bring the whole community together to support this worthy cause. Cancer affects many people and their families and generating funds for research is of vital importance.“

In addition to the charity event held in September, Phil, who lost a relative to cancer last year, will be taking part in three charity marathons in three days, one of which is Bournemouth’s first public marathon. Over this weekend, the team at Slug and Lettuce will be supporting Phil and Cancer Research by encouraging customers to donate money through distributing collection boxes on the bar and asking them to drop in any loose change.
