A Rotherham licensee for whom charity fundraising is second nature has stepped in to help a group of Scouts in need.

Bramley and Wickersley Lions, for whom Les Hince is Chairman, were approached by Bramley Scouts when the boiler broke down at the scout hut over Christmas and ask if they could help. Without desperately needed funds to buy a new boiler the group ran the risk of having to close over the winter months.

Les Hince, Manager of the Three Horseshoes Wickersley and Chairman of Fund Raising for Bramley and Wickersley branch of Lions International said, “It was a pleasure to help the community in this way. We are desperate to help others in similar situations and would love to hear from other worthy causes. We agreed to fund 50% of the cost of the new boiler and installation whatever the cost. The Scouts showed their true scouting spirit by leading the way and fundraising for the other 50%. It was a great pleasure to welcome them to the Three Horseshoes where we are based to hand over the cheque for the balance.

“We were delighted to be able to help the Bramley scouts. Our organisation is there as a financial back up to people and groups within our community in their hour of need and this was just the sort of project we can assist with.”
