The Roper Hall in Preston is gearing up for its annual Rum and Reggae festival – and for the first time this year, sister pub the Adelphi will be joining in the fun! The festivities will run throughout the weekend of 11th – 12th August, with The Roper Hall kicking things off on Saturday, before The Adelphi takes over on Sunday.

The free to enter festival, which now in its third year, begins on Saturday at 12pm, with rum cocktails and a new Lilley’s Rum Cider served in the Roper Hall’s garden from an authentic Rum Shack sponsored by Captain Morgan.

Throughout the day, traditional Caribbean delights will be cooked up on a Jerk Pit BBQ and served to customers along with a backdrop of beats from Operation Sound System, one of the UK’s most prominent Reggae DJs.

From 9pm the Roper Hall will host an ‘After Party’ in its upstairs nightclub, The Dark Room, with Reggae singer Charlie P headlining and a number of other acts performing, including DJ Lighta, MC Fearless, Natural Selectas, Leggo Dan, Fiyah D and many more.

The Rum Shack and Jerk Pit BBQ will then move down the road to sister pub, the Adelphi, as the party continues into Sunday. The Adelphi will also play host to Operation Sound System and a host of other local artists. There will also be street dance performances, plus fantastic giveaways!

Emma Pulsford, General Manager at the Roper Hall, said: “Our Rum and Reggae Festival has been growing in popularity every year so we’re delighted to be able to join forces with the Adelphi and continue the celebrations over the whole weekend.”

Craig Almond, General Manager at the Adelphi, added: “When the Roper Hall started the festival, the impact was astronomical, so I am delighted that The Adelphi will be involved this year!”
