Reading Yates has opened its doors to the public this week following a £450,000 refurbishment and creation of more than 20 jobs for the flagship site.

Located on Friar Street, a brand new bar and lounge area will greet guests on the ground floor, serving everything from great tasting cocktails to the finest ale and beer. A new food menu serving scrummy dishes from breakfast through to dinner will also appeal to every pocket and palate.

The brand’s many sporting fans won’t be disappointed as the first floor of what was a former Post Office has been transformed into one of the best viewing experiences locally. The same space will transform as the evening progresses to act as a great party venue into the night. And with regular promotions such as 2-for-1 and special dishes of the day for as little as £2.50, the Yates offering remains pocket-friendly too for students and locals alike.

Adding to the transformation, there will also be ‘Pitcher and Platter’ deals and ‘Popcorn and Pictures’ evenings plus a ‘Made in Yates’ night every Friday, with various DJs to cater for all music tastes.

Vince Williams, Head of Marketing at Yates, said: “Reading Yates is our flagship venue and we’re excited about investing in a brand new look and jobs for the local area. The investment means our Reading customers can experience a night out like nowhere else in the town, with brand new surroundings and a fantastic atmosphere both day and night.”

A VIP opening night for press will be taking place on 18th November between 6 and 9pm, with drinks and canapés provided on arrival. For more information please contact the Yates team at Lucre.
