The Slug and Lettuce on Borough’s High Street celebrated its opening weekend following an investment made by the Stonegate Pub Company, the group that owns and operates the site.

Closed for four days, the refurbishment has brought about a transformation of the site which reflects the excitement and vibrancy of Borough.

Changes to the Slug and Lettuce include the opening up of the bar by removing a wall; a new stylish colour scheme of plum, silver and sea green along with new furniture including a number of large tables for dining and drinking, perfect for large groups and parties.

Magda Gorszczark, manager of the Slug and Lettuce said: “The investment has created a wow-factor for the Slug and Lettuce and we have had so much positive feedback from the customers. We’ve always been proud of the great customer service we offer and now, that’s complimented by the fantastic new look, and just in time for Christmas and New Year!

“I’ve been working at Slug and Lettuce for over 12 years in various pubs across the capital and I think it’s a fantastic concept to work for. We create reasons for people us to visit across a range of occasions whether it is our 50% off food every Monday or Wednesday Wine Down where you can choose any bottle of wine for just £10.95. We are also introducing a new offer every Sunday where children can eat for just £1 when an adult dines at full price.

“We’ve just launched our amazing selection of winter cocktails which are guaranteed to warm your cockles and celebrate Christmas in style. We have the Cherry Chill Igloo which is served with crushed ice, Smirnoff Red Vodka, Sourz Cherry and Coca-Cola and is presented in an igloo glass! Or, you can try the BrrrAndy Alexander served with cognac and shaken with a blend of milk and cream. If warming drinks are more your thing then we have mulled wine and Rekorderlig Winter Cider.

“There’s a real mix of customers at Slug and Lettuce from office workers, shoppers and regulars during the day and the after work crowd in the early evening and people coming into Borough on the weekend. All of them expect first class service in great surroundings, so with our new look we can now do that in style”, said Magda.”
