The Abbey Inn has invested a huge £300,000 to transform its bar, restaurant and bedrooms to create a stunning looking roadside inn.

Making the pub one of true Scottish heritage, the focus will be on community, sports, a family orientated menu from breakfast to evening, local beers and a calendar of events that offer true reasons to love the Scottish pub.

Lord Provost Lorraine Cameron will attend the opening on November 3rd to see for herself how owner Stonegate Pub Company have invested, creating 12 new jobs, as the family event unfolds with tasters of cask ale and new food dishes, to the backdrop of acoustics from local artist Dougie Andrews 6-9pm and DJ until 1am.

“The Abbey Inn has always had a great reputation for food but there’s more to a great pub so we’re diversifying,” said manager Lisa Kerr. “The Abbey is going to become THE place for sports, THE place for locals to meet and offering a huge welcome to tourists.”

Renovations to the outside began weeks ago with a heated pergola and brand new beer garden taking centre stage at the front of the pub with ambient lighting and welcoming touch.

Contemporary booths, soft seating and funky furnishings offset the additional TV screens and projectors to offer a sophisticated sports bar to watch both Sky and BT Sports – radicalising the perception of sports in pubs.

All twelve bedrooms are being refurbished, all now en suite and an additional two family rooms to provide a welcoming stop over for local businesses and cultural visitors.

Real ale is back with rotational beers from local breweries. Tennants is a respectable £3.05 per pint, whilst cocktails, party bowls and a spirits emporium including ten varied botanical gins cater to every taste.

Food has something for every one too with 2 meals from £10.99 all day every day, lunch time offers and daily promotions. From classic pub favourites to Burgers, Grills and Build-your-own Planks for the ultimate socialites couldn’t get more ‘proper pub’ with a Scottish twist.

Other reasons to visit include dominoes, board games, Thursday Kwizzbit, Saturday big pay weekender parties, Sunday pub quiz, and monthly acoustic artists.
