Charity Quiz for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance

Claire Holden, General Manager of the Old Post Office, is hosting a Charity Quiz as she kicks off her fundraising initiative for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance this weekend. The quiz will start at 7pm and customers are asked to donate to the cause if they would like to participate.
The event is the first in a series of fundraisers planned by Claire as she looks to raise £3,500 in sponsorship before she walks a section of the Great Wall of China in October. The grueling week-long hike along the wall challenges its participants to climb thousands of steps in aid of a charity of their choice, for which she picked the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Charity.
Claire says: “I chose the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance because of the incredibly valuable, lifesaving service it provides. The helicopter is really expensive to run, and the guys over there rely pretty much on donations to do it. God forbid I, or anyone on my team, ever have the need for its service, but I do think we can rest a little bit more easily knowing that it’s there if we ever do.
“I’m planning lots of exciting events over the coming months, so I really hope our customers will come along and get involved. My team is being very supportive already – although they do think I’m a bit nuts for climbing along the Great Wall of China…
“For me, the reality of what I’ve signed up for hasn’t really sunk in just yet, but I’m sure it will by the time I land in Beijing!”
