Kashmira McCann, General Manager of Reflex, on King Street in Wigan, has organised a Family Fun Day in support of My Life, a charity dedicated to helping people who need support to live a better, more fulfilling life. The event is Carnival themed, with lots of games and entertainment for customers to enjoy and will run from 12pm – 6pm on Sunday 7th April.

Entrance to the fun day is £2 for adults and £1 for children, which gives them access to all the games on offer, from ‘Hook a Duck’, to a ring toss and tin can toss. There will be a food stall selling everyone’s favourite carnival treats, like popcorn, hot dogs and much more, as well as a quiet area, complete with numerous board games, ensuring Reflex has something for everyone to enjoy.

All proceeds from the day will be donated straight to My Life and customers are welcome to donate directly via the collection pots in the bar.

Kashmira says: “The work My Life does is incredibly important. They focus on reconnecting the people they help within their communities, which goes such a long way in preventing the isolation that can be associated with being disabled.

“I have a family member who is autistic, so it is a charity that is particularly close to my heart. In fact, I’ve organised the event specifically to coincide with the end of National Autism Awareness Week, which starts on Monday 1st April.

“Reflex has worked closely with My Life for a long time, hosting a monthly social night for adults with disabilities on the first Tuesday of every month, but I’m pleased to take our support one step further with this fundraising initiative. I hope this is something we’ll be able to continue long into the future too.”

The event comes as part of Kashmira’s participation in Stonegate Pub Company’s ‘Accelerator Programme’. The course is part of its award-winning development programme, designed to give its people the skills and knowledge they need to succeed and proceed within the company.
