Fourteen new jobs are to be created at the Fox and Grapes pub between Leeds and York when it re-opens following a £195,000 refurbishment later this week. The former coaching Inn which is situated alongside the A64 York Road close to Barwick in Elmet, is owned and operated by award winning pub company, Stonegate Pub Company. It has temporarily closed to make way for designers and builders to work their magic, and is set to re-open this Saturday 19th October 2013.
The destination pub, known for its quality food, welcoming ambiance and exceptional service, will open daily from 10am, serving brunch with the full menu available from noon. Full table service for dining guests is to be introduced.
The top to toe makeover currently underway at the pub will create more dining space as well as a new private function room seating 20, ideal for parties, celebrations or as a meeting room.
General manager David Oliviea and his team will be welcoming customers to the new look Fox and Grapes from 10.00am on Saturday 19th October. Joining them will be the pub’s very own character Mr Foxy, to entertain children as parents enjoy the pub’s hospitality.
“Customers will see quite a transformation of the pub when they return later this week”, said David Oliviea, “In terms of décor, fixtures and fittings, there won’t be much left of the old Fox and Grapes. It will feel lighter, brighter, modern, yet elegant. With regards to our offer we already have a reputation for great food and attract customers from far and wide. So food remains a big focus for us. We are introducing an even greater Sunday lunch choice with three different roasts freshly cooked each Sunday. We already serve a selection of cask ales that are popular with our customers and so we have decided to extend the range with three handpull ales, sourced nationally and locally.”
