It’s that time we’ve all been dreading, but Love Island 2019 is almost at an end. So, as we prepare to say goodbye to all the drama, jealousy and romance from our favourite Majorca couples on Monday 29th July, Off the Wall, on St John Street in Chester, is preparing to send the much-loved TV show off in style.

Transforming the bar into Chester’s very own island villa and donning their own beach wear, the Off the Wall team are inviting customers to come and watch the season finale all together, as they air it live on the bar’s giant screens from 9pm. The event is all in aid of charity, supporting the men’s mental health charity CALM, The Campaign Against Living Miserably.

Customers are encouraged to come along in their own island-themed attire and take advantage of the bar’s on-site photobooth – which will be full to bursting with Love Island props. There will be prizes, giveaways and a raffle to take part in; and after we say goodbye to the villa – until next year at least – Off the Wall’s own Island Party will kick off in full force, with DJ Beaver hitting the decks and taking the party into the night with a playlist full of Summer Anthems.

Calum White, Deputy Manager of Off the Wall, and the event’s organiser, said: “We’re going all out for the Love Island final, and we’re doing it all for charity. We’ve got two huge screens in the bar and a sound system that will ensure no one misses a thing. So, come along with your mates, with your boyfriends and girlfriends, or even on your own, we’ll all be in it together!

“We will be actively supporting CALM on the night – and the amazing work it does challenging male stereotypes, tackling male suicide and increasing awareness around mental health issues. Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under 45 and that’s something that is sadly becoming more common. Our aim is to use this event as a platform to raise not only funds, but fundamental awareness.”

The event comes as part of Calum’s participation in Stonegate Pub Company’s ‘Accelerator Programme’. The course is part of its award-winning development programme, designed to give staff the skills and knowledge they need to succeed and proceed within the company.
