A pub in Worksop, Yates on Victoria Square is planning an Easter treat with a difference for its customers – the chance to challenge ten-times winner of the World Eight Ball Pool Federation, Sue Thompson to a game of pool and win her cue.

Karl Rosser, assistant manager of Yates’s has invited Sue to the pub on Maundy Thursday (5 April) as part of an Easter fundraising weekend he is co-ordinating in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Customers and pool enthusiasts will get the chance to cue up against Sue for just £3 a game with all proceeds going to the charity. Challenge Sue will commence from 8pm. On the night, whomever Sue judges to be the best player will receive her very own cue as a prize.

“We’re really delighted Sue is joining us for the start of the Easter weekend and to help us kick off our fundraising drive for Macmillan. She joined us at the pub before Christmas to help us celebrate our opening and the response from customers was phenomenal. Quite a few of them would have loved to challenge her then, now they will be able to!” said Karl.

“We’ve set ourselves a target of £700 to raise and will be running other activities throughout the night including jelly shots for £1 and a spot the ball game. We will also be hosting a WKD UV party on Good Friday with UV giveaways to be handed out throughout the night.”
