Pub-goers in Stevenage are in for a winter treat this January when high-street pub, The Drapers Arms, reopens on Wednesday 23rd January following a £250,000 investment.
The revamp makes the Drapers Arms the perfect place to socialise with friends and family whatever the occasion or time of year and, with nine new HDTVs and upgraded sound and lighting systems, it’s sure to be a hit with sports fans. The garden has also received considerable attention and now features an outdoor bar, trendy beach huts and TVs so customers can spend afternoons relaxing outside, sipping on a delicious local craft ale.
The pub’s menu features an extended selection of veggie and vegan specials such as Cauliflower Dhansak Curry and Thai Lentil Pie, as well as burgers, kid’s meals and much more. Those seeking a tipple have an extensive range of gins to choose from – all served as a cocktail or in a highball glass with plenty of ice, generous wedges of citrus fruit and the mixer of choice. The selection of cask ales includes local Barking Spider, Black Sheep, Doombar, Boondoggle, Southwald Bitter and Hobgoblin Gold; while craft beer lovers can enjoy a selection of Camden Brewery, Goose Midway or Meantime London Pale Ale. To add further temptation there is also 2-for-1 cocktails and a comprehensive wine list and soft drink selection.
The pub will continue to provide well-priced food and drink, with a host of special weekly offers. They include discounted big plates on ‘Mighty Mondays’; burgers and a choice of drink on Tuesdays; pie and a pint on Wednesdays; a grilled dish and drink on Thursdays; any classic dish and a drink on Fridays; and five sharing plates on Saturdays.
General Manager, Andrew Cottam is hosting a launch party from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday 23rd January to show-off the refurbished pub. Customers will be welcomed with free fizz and canapé samples of the new menu.
