The Willow Tree pub on Rufford Way in Nottingham has raised £520 for ‘Colts to Africa’, the charity supported by West Bridgford FC, by hosting a family fun day.

The fun day, which took place over Easter was the brainchild of assistant manager Paul Burgess.

“It was a brilliant day, despite being over clouded and we had a great turnout. Local band ‘Soul Town Six’ came and kindly performed for free for us whilst all the children’s activities such as the bouncy castle, face painting and our footie skills competition ‘beat the goalie’ were supplied and managed by local businesses and customers. There was great community spirit and visitors seemed to love the cake and craft stalls too.

“We’re really pleased to have beaten our £500 target and that the money will go some way to helping West Bridgford FC players to help build football pitches and train youngsters to play football in Africa.”
